Meet the Indepth instructors and Haileybury staff members at Heathrow then fly to Bonaire. Take the 15 minute transfer from Bonaire Airport to the hotel. After check in, we will have dinner and an introduction to the dive school where you will check your equipment for the trip. This will ensure you have everything ready for your week of diving ahead.
PADI Open Water course participants - you will be completing two or three 'open water' qualifying dives on the the house reef. This is where you’ll start to log your first dives of the trip. This reef offers perfect conditions to check your weight and fine-tune your buoyancy before descending into the crystal-clear waters. Once you’re comfortable and ready to dive, we will explore the reef between 6 and 18 metres.
Qualified Divers -We will be doing guided adventure dives at Buddy’s Reef, which is a living garden of vibrant soft corals and candy-colored reef fish as far as the eye can see. It is renowned for its angelfish, groupers and parrotfish who dart through the staghorn and elkhorn coral formations. If we follow their lead, we will get a closer view of the reef, where pinky-sized boxfish and red-lipped blennies are just the beginning of the long list of macro critters that call this site home.
PADI Open Water course participants - you will be completing your last open water qualifying dives at Andrea 1 & 2 coral reefs.
Qualified Divers -We will be doing guided dives at Andrea 1 & 2 coral reefs. These sites are ideal for both novice and qualified divers. You’ll find many anemones and soft corals here, where both predator and prey like to hide. With a discerning eye, we will have a very good chance of discovering Seahorses on both dive sites.
Now everyone will be qualified divers, we will be back on the boat for some more diving, with the opportunity to start some Adventure Dives.
We will also be starting the PADI Advanced Course for those who are already OW divers and for those who are up for the challenge, we will be doing a NIGHT DIVE!
We will dive the famous wreck Hilma Hooker, a freighter lying between 18-30 metres. This internationally renowned wreck dive is located near the beginning of the double reef system, where the shallows are full of fish. We will see how the corals have developed on this site since it was created in 1984. It is abundant with marine life and will be a great place to take photos and videos!
We will dive the famous Salt Pier dive site. This will be another perfect place for photography due to the prolific growth on the pilings
and the schooling fish under the shadow of the pier.
We will spend the day relaxing in resort, swimming, snorkeling and kayaking before we have to leave the island to fly home.
