Our Trip

The majority of us met on Saturday morning at Heathrow where we started off the day with a nice breakfast then took to the sky @ 12:30.

On arrival in Male, we were transferred to hotel Hula Hula, where we chilled out by the pool and enjoyed some refreshments. Later that day, we returned to the airport to meet the Blue o Two crew who took us by Dhoni (Maldivian Boat) to our luxury boat for the week: M/Y blue Honors Legacy and here we had our first taste of the delicious food served on board.

Monday morning we started our dive adventure, where we did our check dive at Karumba Reef. The visibility left much to be desired but we all had the chance to accustom ourselves wo diving in the Maldives with SMB's!. We then sailed to Kuda Giri and enjoyed two wreck dives, while encountering turtles, grouper and magnificent anemones gardens.

The next day (Tuesday) we sailed to the Vaagli area where some us used reef hooks for the first time. We also got to see some reef sharks. (Was it reef on left shoulder or right?!!).

Wednesday - in our search for Whale sharks, we sailed to the Mamagli Beyru area. Unfortunately we didn't see any, but we did some wonderful drift dives. (Again, reef left shoulder or right?!!).

The following day we arrived at the Rangali area, where some of us were lucky enough to encounter our first manta rays. There was also plenty of other marine life such as Oriental Grunt and Butterfly fish and a few reef sharks. Later that day we hopped off our boat onto the lovely Sun Island, here we played a little (non competitive) volleyball and enjoyed a lovely BBQ, put on by the Blue O Two staff.

On our penultimate day, most of us were lucky to see some more manta at the Mofushi Kandu.

On Saturday, our last day diving, we saw some lovely marine life and coral around the Hafsa Thila. We then had a short sail back to Male and enjoyed our last meal on the boat, ready for a early flight the next day back to the UK.
