Sharks Bay 18th -25th June 2015
Our group of 18 successfully met up at Luton Airport for the Easyjet flight to Sharm. After a short transfer from the airport, we arrived at Sharks Bay.
It felt great to be back after three years and it was fantastic to be visited by Adel and Mona, his 21 year old daughter during our first evening meal. They looked as happy to see so many familiar faces in our group as we were to see them!
For this trip, we started with 3 days of diving from a daily boat in Tiran and Ras Mohammed. Despite a busy jetty, we had preferential treatment and enjoyed being able to queue jump to our boat whenever we were ready to leave the dive centre!
Then we spent 2 nights and 2 days on the newest boat in the Freedom fleet, a safari boat which was more than spacious enough for all the group and guides. The cabins were comfortable and the cooking as good as you get with Osama as our chef.
With no time constraints, we were able to do 2 dives on the Thistlegorm at different times to the day boats and on the 2nd dive, we had the wreck to ourselves - bliss!
We also had the opportunity of a night dive whilst on board and the chance to dive the Dunraven wreck and Ras Mo again on the way back to Sharks Bay.
We all chose to dive for an extra day in Tiran and the dolphins came to wish us good bye! Such magical animals despite having to put up with several of the boat captains excessively using their horns!!
Thanks to everyone who came on this trip for making it so much fun. Hopefully the people who were visiting Sharks Bay for the first time now understand why return again and again.
Let's not leave it so long until the next time we visit Sharks Bay though as I do not think Matt will be able to contain his excitement levels and energy if we do!
Thanks for "entertaining" us Matt and for being Watersports Captain yet again.
Possibly the worst group shot ever taken, not sure too many of us were ready. Sam's concentrating well though!!
Freedom III - our safari boat which also became our daily boat for our last day, as we are the "special ones!!"
Obligatory cake eating on board!!
